Heritage

An archaeological desk-based assessment with an associated geophysical survey has been undertaken in support of any forthcoming planning application. The only archaeological evidence present within the site relates to ridge and furrow (Medieval and later agricultural practice), which is assessed to be of local interest and was not considered to be an issue when the site was considered for development previously.

Development within the site will not impact upon any designated or non-designated heritage assets outside of the site. It is likely that the Local Planning Authority will recommend a need for trial trenching to confirm the veracity of the geophysical survey, but given the limited interest in the results it is anticipated that this could be secured by an archaeological condition.

Thus, issues relating to heritage assets are not considered to be a constraint to the site coming forward.
